EQA maintenance focuses on inspection items, brake condition, tyres, suspension, steering, cabin filters, air conditioning, cooling systems and the 12-volt battery. High-voltage work is only undertaken where the procedure, equipment and workshop scope are appropriate.

A proper service also creates an opportunity to identify developing mechanical problems before they become breakdowns. We separate items that are due now, items that should be monitored and future maintenance so the client can make an informed decision.

EQA diagnostic work can involve charging warnings, 12-volt battery issues, thermal-management faults, ABS/ESP, air conditioning, communication faults and high-voltage system messages. Correct EV safety procedures and system identification are essential before testing.

Diagnosis can involve a vehicle scan, fault freeze-frame information, live values, wiring diagrams, power and earth checks, actuator tests, pressure measurements, smoke testing, mechanical inspection or road testing. The combination depends on the symptom. The objective is to find evidence of the cause before a repair is authorised.

Mechanical repairs still include brakes, suspension, wheel bearings, tyres, air conditioning and general electrical work. EV-specific repairs are assessed case by case based on isolation requirements, technical information and parts availability.

When a repair is recommended we aim to explain what has failed, why the repair is required and whether related components should be inspected or renewed at the same time. This is particularly important when labour overlaps or a worn related component could compromise the new part.

The EQA uses an electric drive unit rather than a conventional multi-speed automatic transmission. Driveline diagnosis therefore focuses on the electric drive, reduction gearing, mounts, wheel-speed information and related electronic control systems.

Transmission work is not treated as a generic fluid change. The correct transmission family, fluid, filter or pan arrangement, filling procedure and service information must be identified first. Where a shift complaint exists, servicing and diagnosis are separate questions: fresh fluid cannot be relied on to repair an existing mechanical, hydraulic or electronic fault.

The EQA should feel stable, quiet and predictable. Clunks, vibration, pulling, steering play, uneven tyre wear or brake judder can come from worn bushes, ball joints, wheel bearings, brake components, tyres, alignment or model-specific chassis systems. We inspect the system before recommending parts and can arrange wheel alignment where required after repairs.

Cooling-system performance, oil leaks, air-conditioning faults and drivability issues can overlap with electrical diagnosis. A coolant leak may be obvious, while an overheating or A/C complaint may require pressure, temperature or control-system testing. Engine performance concerns can similarly require ignition, fuel, boost, emissions and mechanical checks rather than one assumed cause.
